ReflectionActivity Sheet

It is important to reflect on what you observed, what surprised you, what worked, what didn't work, and how the project could be improved.

Water Quality Team
1 Is there a relationship between dissolved oxygen levels and the types of plants, animals, or other organisms you observed in the water?
2 Do you think that your water source is a good environment for organisms to survive based on pH levels?
3 Is there a relationship between nitrate and phosphate levels and observed algae or plant life in the water?
4 Is there a relationship between turbidity level and the type and variety of organisms observed in the water?
5 Do you see a relationship between dissolved oxygen levels and water temperature?
6 Did any of your results indicate poor or good water quality?
7 What did you observe about conditions during the water-quality test? How did weather conditions, environmental factors, or unusual conditions influence the testing?

What projects could you create with your friends to improve local water sources?

Storyteller Team
What did you notice about how each of the project teams did their activities?

All Project Teams
What surprised you about your findings? What would you do differently? How could the project be improved? What advice would you give the next group of students doing the project?

Now that you have almost completed the project, what new questions came up during your study that you would like answers to? In your group's opinion, what are questions that have gone unanswered? What needs do you see in your area for watershed-health improvement? What involvement does your group want to take?

Ask the Experts
You can Ask the Experts to get help and advice from water scientists. In your project teams, decide on one or two questions you would like to ask. Storytellers: Remember to include the questions and answers in the project report!
